Sita Navami is a Hindu festival celebrated to honor Goddess Sita, the consort of Lord Rama. It falls on the ninth day (Navami) of the Shukla Paksha (waxing phase of the moon) in the Hindu calendar month of Vaisakha. This auspicious day marks the birth anniversary of Goddess Sita.
Devotees observe fasts and perform special prayers to seek the blessings of Goddess Sita for happiness, prosperity, and marital bliss. Temples dedicated to Goddess Sita and Lord Rama are beautifully decorated and devotees gather to participate in bhajans (devotional songs) and recitations of the Ramayana the epic story of Lord Rama.
